Wokingham Borough Council climate events to mark COP28
This year's United Nations' Climate Change Conference, COP28, will be held from 30 November to 12 December in Dubai.
Wokingham Borough Council declared a climate emergency in 2019, committing to do as much as possible to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030. Subsequently, the council published its first Climate Emergency Action Plan (CEAP) establishing more than 100 actions to minimise carbon emissions.
The latest annual CEAP update was passed in September, setting out the planned steps to achieve carbon neutrality along with current progress. For a visual overview, see their climate emergency action plan progress summary (pdf).
As part of COP28 week, WBC is running two talks at Wokingham Library focusing on the council's CEAP, the work being undertaken locally to tackle the climate emergency and how you can help to play your part.
The climate emergency talks will be hosted Councillor Sarah Kerr, Executive Member for Climate Emergency and Resident Services. Book a place for your preferred session using the links provided:
