Saturday 25 January 2020 (to purchase tickets for VE Day Festival on 8 May 2020)
From 9am
St Mary's Church Centre, Station Rd, Wargrave RG10 8EU
£5 adults, £3 children
Wargrave will hold a special VE Day Festival on Friday 8 May, the May Day Bank Holiday which has moved from the first Monday to commemorate 75 years since Victory in Europe was declared at the end of World War Two.
Building on the success of the last two village celebrations, the Queen's Jubilee and the Queen's 90th birthday, the VE Day Festival is sponsored by the Wargrave British Legion and supported by the Wargrave Festival, St Mary’s Church, and the Robert Piggott Junior & Infant School PTAs, who are coming together to bring you the ultimate village festival in a day on Mill Green. A feast of entertainment will be laid on to make your afternoon one to remember.
Tickets cost £5 for adults and £3 for children and are available to buy from St Mary’s Church Centre, Wargrave, from 9am on Saturday 25 January 2020. As before, tables of 6 will be set up in rows, so you can make up a table of friends and family! Places will be limited, so don’t delay. There will be a waiting list for those unable to attend the ticket day, but organisers are expecting a full house!
On VE Day itself, everyone is encouraged to bring their own picnic and decorate their tables. Prizes will be awarded for the best fancy-dress and best decorated tables!
The first 100 ticket purchases on 25 January will receive a complimentary Union Jack to wave on VE Day. Tea, coffee and bacon rolls will be on sale all morning.
