The object of the Wargrave Local History Society is to provide a common meeting ground for the study and discussion of, and research into, history in general, and of the local area in particular.
Meetings usually take place on the second Tuesday of the month excluding August (March is the AGM, December the Christmas party).
This month: The history and restoration of the Kennet & Avon Canal - Graham Horn.
The Kennet and Avon Canal was a busy means of transport, linking Reading to Bath, and Graham Horn will tell us of its history from its inception to its heyday, its decline, and subsequent restoration.
