Lavell’s Lake is in the northernmost part of Dinton Pastures Country Park and set in about 46 acres of a mixture of managed wetland habitats, including Phragmites reed beds, sedges, grass areas, coppiced scrub and hedgerows.

Lavell's Lake was designated a conservation area in 1984 and officially became a nature reserve on 7 July 1987, when the Friends of Lavells Lake (FOLL) became a registered charity. In 2018 FOLL became a Charitable Incorporated Organisation – Lavell’s Wetland Trust – in order to take its mission forward.

The Lavell's Wetland Trust runs a monthly guided bird walk around the park. Routes vary depending on the time of year and last up to three hours. Wear suitable clothing and footwear: at times paths can be very muddy.

Meet at 9am in the car park on Sandford Lane opposite the entrance to the Dinton Activity Centre. Car park charges apply.
For a special treat, join the annual Dawn Chorus walk held in April: the very early start will reward you with an unforgettable experience.
