Ladies’ Day is a very modern comedy with some added pathos as we explore the lives a of a quartet of fish plant workers.

Four ladies having a chat in a factory seems innocuous, until they burst out of their monotony and go off to the races. They encounter a wide range of men during their time at the racecourse and they also reveal a lot about themselves. There is a growing interest in the outcome of the day’s races as the play progresses.

The production maintains a bubbling humour throughout, and during rehearsals the excellent young cast at Twyford & Ruscombe Theatre Group is having a lot of fun playing with the many different vignettes of the ladies’ lives.

The play is directed by Hazel Evans, supported by Frank Kaye as Stage Manager. We look forward to an excellent play performed with increasing freedom as life returns to normal.
