Come and Sing with Thames Valley Chorus

Thames Valley Chorus are holding a FREE Come and Sing workshop for male voices.

With autumn just around the corner, it's time to start looking for hobbies and evening classes. Thames Valley Chorus are holding a taster evening for men who want to find out if they have a voice, and to see how much fun being a member of a choir is. You'll find out your vocal range, learn some simple breathing and vocal warm-up exercises, and master a song in 4-part harmony.

The evening costs nothing, except a couple of hours of your time. The guys at Thames Valley Chorus don't mind whether you can sing or not for the evening: anyway, they often find that men simply haven't been using the correct range for singing.

The Come and Sing session will be held at the choir's regular rehearsal venue, the Bulmershe School in Woodley. The evening will start at 7:30pm, but come along any time after 7pm to meet the choir and start the warmup early.

Thames Valley Chorus is a male choir that sings in a range of styles, from popular songs across all eras to gospel and songs from the shows. (Ladies, this is a chance to kick your man out the house for an evening and take over the remote control for yourself!)

The choir are very aware of the restrictions in place and good practice when singing indoors. The picture shows them rehearsing socially distanced in a large hall. They hope to be able to dispense with masks by the time the open evening takes place.
