Twyford Singers is friendly village choir with a young, enthusiastic musical director and around 45 members. The choir performs three concerts a year, at Easter, in the summer and before Christmas. The choir is also invited to sing at other events and visit local residential homes for a singalong with residents.
The choir practises most Tuesday evenings in the school term, and their performances occasionally involve an ensemble of up to eight musicians and two soloists.
The repertoire is very wide, encompassing show tunes, madrigals, Victorian part songs, opera choruses and oratorios and more modern classical pieces too.
New members are made most welcome – there are no auditions but you do need to be able to sing from musical scores. The choir provides note learning aids in CD form and practice files via the website.
To find out more, contact the secretary via the email link below or go along to join in (or observe) any Tuesday night rehearsal from 7.45pm at the URC Hall in Twyford.
