Formed in 1936, Twyford Bowling Club remains at the heart of the village with a long standing reputation as one of the friendliest bowling clubs in the area. Since having its 6-rink green re-laid in 2014, it also has one of the best playing surfaces around.
New members of any age or experience are always welcome. Whether you are looking to play competitively or just want to enjoy social bowling, your needs will be catered for. The men compete in two local leagues and there are regular ladies’ matches and mixed friendly games against local clubs, as well as internal competitions and ‘roll ups’.
The bowling season runs from April to mid-September. Outside the season there are regular monthly social evenings. The club is open to members daily from 10am. Visitors are welcome to go along on any Friday evening club night during the season to see what is on offer. Just turn up wearing flat soled shoes from 6pm.
Tuition is offered to new bowlers using club equipment, so you won’t need to commit any expenditure until you are sure that you want to join. For more information see the club website.
