The Reading Offshore Sailing Club (ROSC) is the inland club for the offshore sailor. It is for those people resident in and around the Reading area who are interested in sailing or motor yachts.
The membership is made up of those who have yachts based in and around the Solent area, others without boats who would like to crew, and those simply interested in learning more about sailing.
During the sailing season ROSC organises regular rallies to venues along the South Coast from Weymouth to Brighton and also across the Channel to France and the Channel Islands.
In the winter, ROSC holds monthly meetings at the Upper Thames Motor Yacht Club in Sonning. These are usually on the first Monday evening of the month. Meetings often include guest speakers covering various different aspects of sailing and maritime life. Members have had the pleasure of welcoming Tracy Edwards, Tom Cunliffe, Adrian Seligman, Robin Knox Johnson and other experts in their respective fields.
In 2021 ROSC is celebrating its 50th anniversary and plans to mark the occasion with a special event in May.
