Hurst Karate Club has been running for over 25 years, based at Hurst Village Hall.

The club offers self defence lessons to anyone who wants to combine moderate exercise with the art of the ’empty hand’ (which is what karate means in Japanese).

There are separate kids’ and adults’ sessions every Monday and Wednesday evening. The club practices the hard/soft style of martial art called goju ryu karate – focusing on technique rather than strength.

Hurst Karate Club welcomes men or women, young or old, beginners or experienced karateka. Members range in age from 6 to over 70. The club often has visiting instructors.
