CLASP is a self-advocacy group for people with learning disabilities in the Wokingham borough.
CLASP stands for Caring, Listening and Supporting Partnership. It was founded in 2005 by a small group of campaigners with learning disabilities. CLASP runs the Wokingham Learning Disability Partnership Board and various projects to ensure the LD community is recognised and has a voice.
The group’s activities include active sessions, sports and exercise sessions, gardening club, a popular choir, and weekly coffee mornings with drop-ins from housing, library, and local police. Fridays are dedicated to our members’ campaigns.
As a member-led charity, members drive ideas while staff provide support by offering structured activities and education, striving to make a positive impact and achieve the best for members.
CLASP members say the charity is their safe and happy place. Supporters say CLASP has changed their lives and that of their families.
