Waltham St Lawrence & Shurlock Row Village Show

The annual horticultural show for the villages of Waltham St Lawrence and Shurlock Row will be held on Sunday 8 September 2024.

There is a wide range of classes to enter, whether for home grown produce, flowers, eggs, cookery, art, handicrafts or photography. There are also plenty of classes for children.

Residents of both villages are invited to submit their entries by Wednesday 4 September. Staging on the day will take place from 8.30am to 10.30am, and judging will complete before the show opens to the public. Prizes will be presented from 3.30pm, with exhibits to be removed by 4.15pm.

Delicious teas will be available in the hall from 2pm to 4pm.

This year also sees the return of the biennial David Brownlow People’s Choice Scarecrow Competition:  follow the link from the website above to view the guidelines. The theme for 2024 is 'All things French'  to coincide with Paris hosting the summer Olympics, so plenty of scope to get creative (within appropriate boundaries for a family event!)
