Twyford Snooker Club open day

Remembrance Sunday this year is particularly special for Twyford Snooker Club. 2018 marks one hundred years since the end of World War One, and the snooker hall houses important historical boards honouring the men of Twyford who went to war. A former Wesleyan chapel, the hall was given to the men of Twyford who returned home safely.

The club will hold an open day on Remembrance Sunday enabling visitors to learn more about the club at the same time as viewing the newly restored memorial boards and other work completed and ongoing for refurbishing the building. A plaque about the history of the club - funded by the Polehampton Charity and produced by Twyford & Ruscombe Local History Society - will also be unveiled on an outside wall.

A quiz night to help raise funds for the continued restoration project will be held on 15 November from 7.30pm at the Duke of Wellington - all welcome.
