Twyford Parish Council comprises duly elected volunteers whose aim is to represent the village in local issues affecting the community and to provide services and facilities for the benefit of all who live in or pass through Twyford. The Council has no political affiliation and this independence enables it to consider all issues without influence when interfacing with Wokingham Borough Council and commercial organisations whose activities and proposals may impact  our village.

This annual meeting of the council replaces the usual monthly full council meeting on the 4th Tuesday. Its purpose is for the election of officers, appointment of councillors to various committees, working groups and to represent the council on various outside bodies, to review and adopt policies and put in place everything necessary for conducting council business over the year ahead.
