Twyford & Ruscombe Horticultural Association AGM
Wed 31 January 2024
Twyford & Ruscombe Horticultural Association are looking forward to welcoming everybody to the AGM on 31 January at St Thomas More Church Rooms in Loddon Hall Road, where they will be discussing the future over a glass of wine.
TRHA has made a splendid comeback after a difficult couple of years. Membership increased in 2023 and all activities were well supported, particularly the shows, where the many visitors were treated to some impressive exhibits.
TRHA was founded in 1956 as a ‘not for profit’ organisation run by volunteers. The Association is affiliated with the Royal Horticultural Society. Its main objective is to promote gardening and allotment cultivation to members of all ages in the local community. This is achieved through various activities, for example issuing a monthly newsletter, organising three shows a year and selling garden supplies at its Store in Loddon Hall Road, open on Sunday mornings between February and November.
TRHA runs three shows a year in spring, summer and autumn at Loddon Hall in Twyford. As well as the vegetable and flower growing categories they usually include some domestic, art and photography sections.
Any suggestions for the shows or general running of the association is always welcome. TRHA could not function without its dedicated volunteers and member support.
Planning for the 2024 shows is already well advanced. The shows will have a new look but will still be 'open' to all exhibitors. TRHA hope that all gardeners will be planning for the new season with this in mind.
The Store will be reopening after the winter break on 4 February enabling members to purchase horticultural supplies, get advice, or just have a friendly chat.
You can apply for membership at the Store in Loddon Hall Road any Sunday from 9.30 to 11am, or you can email Jenny Wager at firstname.lastname@example.org. Visit the website at www.trha.org.uk for details of all activities.
