Swallowfield Show is held over the Sunday and Monday of the August bank holiday weekend. The two-day family-friendly community event offers a host of activities and entertainment to suit all ages. Kids go free, dogs are welcome and there is free on-site parking. For the latest news, follow the show on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.
The Swallowfield Show started in 1885. Apart from during the two world wars and the Covid pandemic, it has taken place every year right up to the present day. A short history of the show, including photos, can be found on the website.
The Swallowfield Show is totally organised by volunteers, so all involved were proud to receive the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service in 2018. Their main purpose, apart from offering visitors a great day out, is to raise funds for local charities and good causes. Organisers were delighted to attract over 8,000 visitors last year, raising £24,000 for good causes.
The present-day Swallowfield Show is back where it all started at Swallowfield Park, which provides a wonderful atmosphere for a community show that offers something for everyone:
