Music and Arts at Hurley is a community-based festival in the heart of the picturesque village, showcasing taltent principally from the local area in a series of concerts and presentations over the May bank holiday weekend.
The mission is to create a platform where people can come together to celebrate music, spoken word, other art forms and community. Those attending will experience wonderful music, entertainment, good food and conviviality. The inaugural event is taking place on 3-5 May 2024.
Music and Arts at Hurley is the result of a meeting of minds between the Rev Tom Etherton, Vicar of the Parish of Burchetts Green, of which Hurley is part, and Jonathan Miall, organist at Hurley, conductor and founder of Cookham’s Cantorum Choir. They are supported by a number of residents from around the local community.
The event will feature concerts, spoken word, a special Festival Eucharist, flower displays, jazz and folk groups and cream teas.
It is envisaged that the festival will take place every two years and will reach out to an ever broader range of artists and performers.
