This year the coronavirus pandemic has necessitated a new socially distanced version of the event on 22 August, renamed Virtual 2020.

The society's website has a section dedicated to Virtual 2020, listing details of the nine competition classes available to residents of Hurst and surrounding areas wishing to enter. Participants are invited to submit two photos per entry showcasing their floral and vegetable produce, baking prowess or craft skills. Two of the classes are reserved for children. Entries can be submitted any time up to 22 August, when judging will take place after the closing deadline of 12 noon to enable the results to be published on the website later the same day.
