It starts out with much humour but gradually shifts into something darker...The two-act play was brought to prominence in 2006 by Penelope Keith’s iconic portrayal of the lead character at the Chichester Festival Theatre. The production by Twyford Drama has a highly talented cast of just five, including two new but very experienced actors: Sandra Miall in the role of Grace and Caroline White as Jo. The other members of the team are Beth Reynolds, Jo Davis and Mike Higgins, with Frank Kaye as the director, ably assisted by Viv Williamson. The play is set in a garden with a stream, a house on one side of the stage, a greenhouse on the other. It’ll be a lot of fun for the lighting, sound and set designers to present the scenes and transitions in different ways. The modern day costumes will be complemented by a host of interesting props.Audiences can expect entrances and exits galore, enhancing the early humour and providing significant shifts of gear as the plot unfolds. Each of the characters has their own ‘back story’ to add into the mix. About Nikki Ochtman View all posts by Nikki Ochtman → ← Previous Next →
