Local events marking the 80th anniversary of D-Day
Wokingham
The Royal British Legion, in conjunction with Wokingham Town Council and The Barkham Hookers crochet group, is hosting a special event to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day on Thursday 6 June from 9am to 4.30pm in Market Place, Wokingham.
Woodley
In the evening, head to Woodford Park Memorial Ground in Woodley for an event running from 6pm to 10pm, featuring a live band, entertainment and refreshment stalls. The Woodley Town Mayor will light a beacon at 9.15pm, along with the rest of the nation. Bring a picnic, your friends and family and enjoy the celebrations.
Twyford
Age Concern Twyford & District will be treating members and guests to a special D-Day celebration from 12 noon to 3pm on Friday 7 June, with The Rt Hon Theresa May MP in attendance.
