Crowthorne Symphony Orchestra’s next concert at All Saints in Wokingham features the much-loved Saint-Saëns Organ Symphony, which you may also recognise as the theme from ‘Babe’! Organist David Pether, very well known throughout Berkshire playing for services, ceremonies and recitals, will join the orchestra on the recently refurbished All Saints organ.
Alongside the Saint-Saëns, the programme includes works by twentieth century composers based on music composed over 100 years earlier: Hindemith’s Symphonic Metamorphosis on Themes of Weber, and Britten’s Soirées Musicales based on melodies by Rossini. Completing the programme is Britten’s wonderful Symphonic Suite from Gloriana. The orchestra anticipates a high demand for tickets – don't miss out!
