34 venues around the University of Reading area
Free entry, with items available to purchase
Whiteknights Studio Trail is back for its 25th year! This walking tour of artists’ studios in the University of Reading area takes place on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 June from 11am to 6pm on both days. There are 48 artists taking part, at 33 venues – some serving refreshments. Art and craft work from talented artists will be on display and for sale. Artists will be able to discuss their work and take commissions.
There’s a great way to see the wide variety of talent taking part in the art trail this year. To celebrate this great 25 year milestone, all artists taking part in the trail are producing a unique piece of art measuring 25 x25 cms, which will displayed together at The Turret Gallery of the Abbey School. Funds raised will be donated to the Berkshire Hospital Charity Trust, which supports hospital patients and visitors.
This special art trail was set up by local artists Jenny Halstead (painter), Susana Beer (weaver) and Pip Hall (stone carver), who were convinced back in 2000 that there were enough creative artists and craftspeople in the Whiteknights area to form a walking tour from one studio venue to the next. The idea was, and still is, to make it a community event, where exhibitors communicate the enthusiasm and passion of their craft to their visitors.
Come along and enjoy!
