The Reading Geological Society is a friendly and enthusiastic group of amateurs and professionals interested in earth sciences who want to discover more about the earth, its rocks, minerals and fossils.
They meet once a month for lectures by experts and friendly discussion. All are welcome and there is no charge for visitors.
There are also monthly field meetings providing an opportunity to travel around the UK with fellow enthusiasts, with occasional extended trips further afield.
This month's talk is on Skye volcanoes:
Discovery of a Paleocene meteoritic ejecta blanket on the Isle of Skye.
